As a dancer and choreographer my main interest and concern is with both Flamenco and modern dance. Classical ballet as a technical base as well as other dance styles such as jazz and contemporary naturally flow into my work whereas my focus lies on both dedicating myself to traditional  Flamenco and connecting Spanish shapes and music with the qualities of the classical modern dance techniques in order to find a rich way of expression...

Flamenco

Flamenco as a complex art form consists of three main components, dance, singing and guitar. Its unique fusion of culturally diverse influences turns it into a creative melting pot. So do we obviously find the impact of the Sinti and Romanies as well as Arabic, Jewish and folkloristic elements expressing themselves through virtuous footwork, strength and elegance...Profane as well as religious topics are dealt with, joy and suffering, all polarities of human existence are united, carried by the rhythm, el compás...

Modern Dance

Modern dance comprises the codified techniques of the grand dance personalities of the last century, among them Martha Graham, Doris Humphrey, José Limón, Merce Cuningham, Lester Horton...and so distinguishes from contemporary dance which tries to sum up the current artistic developments. Based on the movements in Germany and Europe shortly before and after the turn of the century as well as on social and artistic developments in the USA, the different modern techniques have emerged with the goal of finding a new free and powerful way of physical expression...
